What's In A Name?

My name is Roodlyne (at least the one I was born with anyways #longstory) The 'R' is pronounced like a 'W'; but, my friends call me Woods for short, so I guess that's what you can call me.

Let's See, Short and Sweet.... I was born in Haiti and Raised in Massachusetts. I very much believe in God. I am an Artist in many ways: Painting, Writing, Singing, Acting... and more. I actually don't like long walks on the beach, I prefer multiple short walks during a day spent at the beach. Oh, and I'm a college graduate (figured I'd mention it since those loan payments remind me every month :-) )

I've gone through a lot of life assuming that I was the only one experiencing most things; constantly wishing there were people who had gone before me, who could help guide my steps, or at the very least, people who were going through these woes with me . But I had a mentor in college once who dialogued (not sure if that's a word) me into recognizing that I already had all of those things and that I was not alone. He also taught me the value of the African-American Proverb "Each one Teach one". Everything I learn, I can and am obligated to pass on and teach others. Sharing stories, experiences, and lessons learned with the people around us aids them in their journey, and simultaneously aids you by allowing you to reflect and find meaning in your own experiences. 

 

That is what inspired this blog. This is me, inviting you to do life with me, and humbly asking that you allow me to do life with you. Together, we can light up the world #lightupthewoods .
